Eye on the Ball (A Playing for Glory Romance, #1)
Genre: M/F Contemporary Romance

What would prove to be stronger? Love, or loyalty?

It was a World Cup year, and top professional rugby player, Jakes du Plessis desperately wanted to fulfil his childhood dream of playing for the Springboks. However, to succeed, he must stick to the team’s strict vow of celibacy and mantra: ‘Focus! Keep an eye on the ball – and stay away from women.’

What Jakes didn’t count on was a chance meeting with Angie Summers, an artist who shook him to his core and threw his well-laid plans into a tailspin. Not even his promise to his friends and teammates, over 9 000 miles between them, and demons from his past could stop Jakes from falling for Angie.

Unfortunately, not everything is plain sailing, and Jakes finds that it takes a team to help him overcome obstacles to find his way to his own Happily Ever After.

When Angie stumbled upon Jakes by accident, it definitely wasn't love at first sight. She wasn't looking for a new relationship, after all, she was still wearing another man’s ring.

Fate has different ideas though.

Can Angie forgive Jakes and forget about their first disastrous encounters? And will he let her into his heart to overcome his biggest enemy, which is not on the field of play?

“If you are looking for a read that will take you on a journey from the US to South Africa and have you falling love along the way, then I recommend you pick up Eye on the Ball.

The connection between Jakes and Ange is intense and watching them fall in love is captivating. Their journey isn't without it's pitfalls, but their perseverance is endearing.

Ange is a feisty little thing you can't help but love. Her heart is big and her need to help everyone is sensational. Jakes may appear like the strong silent type, and he is, but there's also more to him than meets the eye. These two may not appear to be right for each other, but the more you get to know them the more you can see how perfect they are for each other.

I really enjoyed this debut read from Francine. The storyline was fresh and intriguing and the charterers well developed and readers can easily connect with them. The passion is a slow burn slowly ignites into a burning inferno that time and space can't extinguish.

I highly suggest you pick up Eye on the Ball and get to know Jakes and Ange and fall in love right along with them.”
